Weekend passed...

I'm working on my new project but it's secret (I don't want to spoil surprise...). I will only confirm involvement of: nail polish, flowers and clean jars:

Example, found on Etsy

My version, close enough!

I'm also checking nail polish arrangements:

And dry gherkins jars for my secret laboratory:

You want to know more now, don't you?

Sketch Exhibition

I've just came back from sketch exhibition which is taking place in Art College new building (the big, glass one). Admission is free.
It was quite inspiring. At first I was struck by the fact that I don't know works created on base of those sketches! But thanks to that I could focus on used techniques and various methods of thought recording. Some people were making notes, some were only drawing. Some sketchbooks are really shabby, dirty and even smelly, other looks like art publications.

I caught few nice ideas but I will keep them to myself, some artists didn't wish to have their drawings reproduced...

Sandy Sykes sketchbook, this chicken is my favourite!
I always thought that I'm not good in sketchbooks but everyone has different style, it's simple as that!
Exhibition will last till 10th April.

Illustration Stuff Fair!

I went on Stuff Fair in college this Thursday to get anthology and see... stuff:)  I loved the variety but I had to be tough. As much as I wanted to buy everything I unfortunately had to choose, but I think I made right choices!

My Fair Haul include: Jack Teagle comic (thank you!) and red one by Isaac Lenkiewcz, otters card by Laura Robjohns, pocket mirror by Lize Meddings and another few badges (never enough of them!)

There was some variety...

I graduated! Kind of officially I received my certificate, special camp badge and anthology of course! I really feel that I gained something and I'm not talking about badges and comics only... I wish you luck, warriors! And see you soon!

I will cherish those artefacts... for ever!

Anthology from the inside.

And here is... (rumbles, rumbles, rumbles) Ta Dah! My comic!

... I hope you get it.

I'm working on another stories, sketches will appear soon!

Procrastination is over!

Hi! It's just time to release my inner exhibitionist and show the world my works, sketches, ideas and other interesting stuff related to my practice. It is hard, I've been raised in modesty but I will graduate from college this year and I'm in need of internet presence. Here I am!

I'm finished my comics for Comic Book Slumber Party anthology and this is my first proper comic! This CBSP camp took place in Plymouth at the Art College and it was super-duper positive experience! It was like indoor plein air...

There was "few" of us (participants), we met new people interested in drawing comics and we also had chance to get know our "troop leaders" better: Donya Todd, Lize Meddings, Isaac Lenkiewicz, and Jack Teagle, who are experienced in comic making. Whole event were co-ordinated by Benjamin Wright and  Hannah K Chapman with the help from doughnut scouts!

During the week of workshops all participants were earning different badges: for participation as well as particular achievements like growing a beard or making new friends. It was motivating people to do crazy stuff, but thanks to that loads of ices were broken. We all were obliged to wear blue neckerchief and have handbooks on us. We were provided with different comics templates, not mentioning talks from troop leaders and inspirational literature that was provided to familiarize with.
Even local newspaper was interested in what we were doing (link here).

I can't describe enough how awesome it was, to just draw together in funny and easy atmosphere.
On the last, unofficial day (drawing in the pub) I appeared without pencil and sketchbook (I genuinely thought they're kidding!). I came out from the pub with sketchbook full of sketches! How amazing is that?

Someone gave me 4H pencil, that's why it's so light.

Anthology with our comics will be on sale on Stuff Fair and I can't wait to see it! I would love to participate in more endeavours of this type in the future. I'm really charged with ideas, inspirations and contacts with lovely people.
